Two-alarm fire on Thetford Avenue in Dorchester injures resident

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 8 Thetford Ave., off Norfolk Street in Dorchester, for a two-alarm fire that displaced nine residents and a cat around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Firefighters rescued one resident from the second floor and report she was transported to a local hospital.

The fire began in the rear and completely destroyed the house's rear porches, the department says.
